At Night
Galaxy S20 Ultra: 1x, focus tap on the street light, auto night-mode, no tripod (first try)
iPhone 11 Pro Max: 1x, focus tap on the street light, auto night-mode, no tripod (first try)
Galaxy S20 Ultra: 1x, focus tap on the street light, auto night-mode, manually lowered brightness, no tripod (best shot out of 4)
iPhone 11 Pro Max : 1x, focus tap on the street light, auto night-mode, manually lowered brightness, no tripod (best shot out of 4)
What I was aiming for with the phones: Sony A7 with a 24mm 1.4.
Galaxy Ultra: Only one good shot. Slow and difficult to frame. With auto-mode I got nearly black photos. After switching manually to night-mode I got brighter ones.
iPhone 11 Pro: Nearly every shot is good. Super easy to shoot and frame. Didn‘t need to activate night-mode manually or tap to focus.
Just for the comparison: A 10 second exposure from the Sony A7.
Speed And Focus
Galaxy: Faster but not sharp.
iPhone: Slower but sharp.
Galaxy: Easier to catch the perfect moment.
iPhone: Too slow. Missed the perfect moment many times.
Galaxy: Samsung apparently activated a special mode. Looks very nice.
iPhone: Finally!
